Company Profile
McAree Engineering was founded in 1947 by Vincent McAree
at Ballinode, County Monaghan to repair and manufacture agricultural
implements. In 1969 they moved into the more specialised are
of sheet metal. The V-Mac silo

market leader in Ireland.
|
In 1978 the company introduced its range of spiral duct tubing and in the mid
1980's commenced the supply of sheet metal components
to local and multinational companies.
The company now has one of the most modern sheet metal

Why Farmers Have V-Mac Silos Their First (No.1) Choice
McAree bins are manufactured to order and designed to suit
the individual farm circumstances. Once the order is received
the design team in the factory will work with the sales person
to supply the most suitable silo. The location, space, height,
farmer preferences etc are taken into account so customer
satisfaction can be guaranteed.
The V-Mac silos are
manufactured in a modern high tech plant from galvanised
steel using a unique seamless, lockform construction
for lifetime value. These silos are available in a range
of sizes from 5-30 tonnes as single or split bins. Optional
extras available include auger discharge, ladders, meal
barrows, raised outlet etc.
A flexible spout reduces dust spillage and a blow in
expansion chamber reduces feed separation, the silo
comes complete with a low angle galvanised lid, heavy
duty filler pipe and bend. A sight glass is fitted for
determining what feed is left and there are inspection
hatches on the cone and lid. |

|
The area under the cone has a useful lockable compartment
with easy access which can be used to store a quad bike, tools,
medication etc. McAree bins can be erected quickly as no crane,
steel work or reinforced concrete base is required.
Award Winning Diet Feeder Wagon
These silos are also available as single or split bins from
5-30 tonnes and won the prestigious RUAS silver medal in 2005.
Legs are manufactured from a tubular structure using a patented
hinged connection. A flexible spout reduces spillage and a
simple chain control for the butterfly valve ensures accurate
feed discharge. It also has a 100 mm low level spout to fill
bags. The base requirements are 4.9m x 4.9m x 300mm and due
to customer demand delivery can take around 6 weeks.
What the Customers Say
Martin Walsh from Kilrush in Co. Clare keeps over 100
horses and is well known in equine circles. This stud farm
has a 20 tonne split bin which is used to store oats &
barley. He says "the service from McAree was outstanding
…the bin was designed to suit to suit our requirements"
(height etc) so he is delighted to recommend a V-Mac Silo.
Joe Jackson is a Co. Antrim poultry farmer and purchased
his first McAree bin in 1992 - it is "as good as
new as there is no rust". Since then he has purchased
four more and says that "the split bins are a big
advantage… no meal sticks to the inside"
so moisture is obviously not a problem. He is also very
pleased with the lockable compartments - "very
useful for storage".
