| Silver Medal Winner
Announced
15th December 2005
The winners of the Silver Medal Awards were announced
on Thursday at the 20th Royal Ulster Winter Fair. McAree
Engineering Works Ltd won the Silver Medal for their
V-Mac split Silos for filling feeder wagons.
The V-Mac split Silos for filling feeder wagons, manufactured
by McAree Engineering Works Ltd, Co Monaghan is a split
Silo divided to give two separate compartments. Not
only does it reduce labour costs but its more convenient
as no steelwork or crane is required on site.
An absolutely delighted Eamon McMeel of McAree Engineering
said, "This is the first competition that we've
ever entered and I got the shock of my life when I found
out we'd won the Silver Medal Award. We decided to enter
the V-Mac Silo into the competition as it was a new
product within our range and we felt it was also very
innovative and would be a worthy winner."
The judges were impressed by the V-Mac's overall construction
quality, ease of use and the satisfaction of users and
further commented, "The clever design facilitates
ease of transport to the site and rapid installation
while providing the necessary height and leg spacing
for safe loading of feeder wagons."
